As coaches, we support and encourage our clients toward achieving goals in areas where they feel stuck. Many times the reason for feeling stuck is “fear.” Fear of failure, fear of not being sure the timing is right, fear of rejection, and so many other self-sabotaging beliefs are holding them back. Some even fear success.
It is in these moments, however, that our courage and faith are our most important assets. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 1:7, “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. “
God has given us the tools we need to accomplish our goals. They’re already inside us – built in to our spirits, just as Paul writes. And every day some of us use these gifts to our maximum potential, while others may be hesitant to even give them a test drive.
Why though? Do we fear what might happen if we fail? Failure is the road we walk along the way to our destination of success. I imagine that every successful person met failure first before they ever met success. Remember Edison? He failed 10,000 times before he made the electric light! Do not be discouraged if you fail a few times.
So if you feel God has put a path before you, just as he did for Moses out of Egypt, there is no reason to fear that path, even if you meet failure along the way; the path before you is not yours alone to walk.
