When most people think about life coaches, they probably think about goals, dreams and specific milestones to be reached. Coaching is more than helping your clients to reach goals and dream big. Especially as a Christian Life Coach, you want to encourage your clients to have fun and enjoy this life that God has blessed us all with! Having fun is a great way to clear away the “cobwebs”, energize, de-stress, and gain clarity and focus. Which in turn, will be beneficial for your physical health as well. Children usually seem so carefree because they never forget to have fun! But we as adults, sometimes have to remind ourselves.
So how can you make sure your clients are having enough fun? Help them to:
- Be spontaneous. With schedules for work, school schedules, children’s sports schedules… everything in life can seem so regimented. It’s important to cut loose once in a while and break free from all the planning! Take a spur-of-the-moment road trip or go for a walk in the park that you drive by every day.
- Be yourself. Too often we’re so concerned with others’ opinions, that we will adjust how we dress or act so we will “fit in.” God created you just as you are, so don’t be afraid to be yourself! Embrace your individuality and celebrate it! If you still love to roller skate, join a women’s roller derby league! Or if you like bright colors and designs, show them off! Even in an office with a professional dress code, you can add a splash of color with fun shoes or jewelry, or a cool tie or pocket square for men.
- Try something new. Make it a point to try something new once a week. It can be something big like rock climbing or small like having dinner at a restaurant you’ve never been too. The key is to mix it up and have fun!
How do you help your clients bring back a little more fun in in their life?
